In July 2025, our founder Ben began his journey as a university intern in Australia whilst studying business back in the UK. What started as a once in a lifetime opportunity quickly became something much bigger.

Out of hundreds of applicants, Ben was fortunate enough to secure a highly competitive international placement opportunity, an experience that completely changed his perspective on travel, work and student opportunities abroad.

Whilst documenting the journey on TikTok and sharing life in Australia online, messages from students around the world started flooding in daily. Students were asking the same questions:

“How did you find this?”
“Where can I apply?”
“Are there any websites for opportunities like this?”

The problem was there wasn’t a clear answer.

Too many students dream of travelling, studying and working abroad, yet there’s very little guidance available and not enough connections between universities and international companies offering these opportunities. That’s where Placement Pathways was born.

Built from genuine experience and a passion for helping students access life changing opportunities overseas, Placement Pathways aims to bridge the gap between ambitious students and international placement opportunities.   

We’re creating a platform designed to make the process simpler, clearer and more accessible, helping students discover opportunities they may never have known existed.

We’re still at the beginning of the journey, and whilst nothing is perfect yet, Placement Pathways is growing into a platform built with purpose, ambition and belief in what international experiences can do for young people.

We believe international opportunities shouldn’t feel impossible to find.    

For many students, studying or working abroad can seem confusing, competitive and completely out of reach. Between limited university support, lack of awareness and scattered information online, students are often left trying to figure everything out alone.

At Placement Pathways, we want to change that.    

Our goal is to create a platform that gives students direct access to international placements, internships and opportunities abroad, whilst also providing real insight from people who have actually experienced the process themselves.    

This isn’t just another recruitment platform.    

Placement Pathways is built by a student who experienced the uncertainty first-hand and understands how powerful these opportunities can be for personal growth, confidence, careers and life experience.
